MISSING FLORIDA LETTERBOX

Which Florida box is the one that's missing? Is it
the one at Canaveral Marshes? I was planning on
looking for that one when I'm in Florida in a couple
of weeks.

When I was there in November, River Run and Christmas Box #2 (both in
Hillsborough Country) were both missing.

Since that is my box, I guess I'll give the best answer. No, as far
as I know it is still there. If you go there I would STRONGLY SUGGEST
you take the short drive from there to Blackpoint Wildlife drive and
get that box also. This time of year there are often many tens of
thousands of migratory birds of all type to be seen at Blackpoint. It
is an amazing sight on a good day. That box is also intact as far as
I know and recently seen. The one I reported missing is near Sarasota
in Myakka park (the skyfish box).

Elise,

Flapjack is missing from DeLeon Springs; however, there are new boxes in
DeLand and at Hontoon Island nearby. These are in Central Florida.

Thanks to you and everyone who replied. I am a
long-time birder and will definitely be doing the
Blackpoint Drive. And I would probably not have known
about it if it were not for your letterbox clue.

It's amazing how many great places I've visited since
I began this hobby.

The 2 letterboxes at River Run Hillsborough, FL were missing after a
tropical storm went through the area. I don't think anyone has
replaced them yet (this is over in the Tampa area)
